Memphis C. S. Lewis Society Brockwell Room - Memphis Theological Seminary Present: Barry Anderson, Dennis Beets, Kate Chilton, Bill Cupo, Janet Cupo, Rebecca Cupo, Patrick Gray, Rob Hill, Knick Knickerbocker, Sandie Knickerbocker, Hilda Lewis, Ann Marty, Lee McCaulla, David Moose, Judy Moose, Pam Prieta, Bob Tyson, Peggy Weaver. Dennis Beets opened the meeting with prayer. David Moose spoke on his trip to Oxford England and presented a photo display of CSL-related sights. Barry Anderson presented information on the 2005 OxBridge Conference in Oxford and Cambridge. The Society was presented a copy of Rob Thompson's Rhodes College senior paper for inclusion in the MTS CSL Collection and Study Center. The paper is titled "Is Pride Irrational? A Critique of John Hick's Argument that a 'Fall' is Inconceivable as Presented in Evil and the God of Love, Using the Perspective of C.S. Lewis as Found in Perelandra and The Problem of Pain." The program consisted of a discussion of Perelandra chapters 5-7. The next meeting will be on November 14 and the program will be a discussion of Perelandra chapters 8-10. |
