Memphis C. S. Lewis Society Minutes of February 9, 2003 meeting Brockwell Room - Memphis Theological Seminary Present: Barry Anderson, Dennis Beets, Tom Boulden, Bill Cupo, Janet Cupo, Don Johnson, Teresa Johnson, Knick Knickerbocker, Sandie Knickerbocker, Ann Marty, Bill Marty, David Twombly, Joy White, Owen White Dennis Beets opened the meeting with prayer. Bill Marty announced "Christianity and the Academy Conference" at the University of Memphis on April 4, 2003. The theme will be "Christian Intellectual Life in the New Dark Age" and the keynote speaker will be Dr. Charles Turner. The program was a discussion of two essays in Christian Reflections, "Christianity and Literature" and "Christianity and Culture." The next meeting will be on March 16. The topic will be two essays from Christian Reflections, "Religion: Reality or Substitute" and "On Ethics." --Submitted by Barry Anderson |
