Memphis C. S. Lewis Society Minutes of November 9, 2003 meeting Brockwell Room - Memphis Theological Seminary Present: Barry Anderson, Dennis Beets, Tom Boulden, Anna Inman, Don Johnson, Teresa Johnson, Knick Knickerbocker. Dennis Beets opened the meeting with prayer. Barry Anderson reported that a service recognizing the life and ministry of C. S. Lewis would be held in the chapel of Memphis Theological Seminary on November 18, 2003. Dr. Knick Knickerbocker will serve a the preacher for the service. Knick Knickerbocker and Barry Anderson agreed to work with MTS in naming the new Lewis collection. The proposed name is The C. S. Lewis Collection and Study Center. The group agreed to the proposal. Dennis Beets explained the process of obtaining incorporation as a nonprofit corporation and 501(c)(3) organization status. Don Johnson agreed to assist Dennis Beets in the process. The program featured a discussion of chapters 1-6 of Out of the Silent Planet. The next meeting will be on December 14. The program will be discussion of chapters 7-14 of Out of the Silent Planet.
