Minutes of December 14, 2003 meeting

Anderson home - Midtown Memphis

Present:  Barry Anderson, Cyd Beets, Dennis Beets, Tom Boulden, Cathy Boulden, Bill Cupo, Janet Cupo, Alex Gray, Patrick Gray, Anna Inman, Don Johnson, Teresa Johnson, Knick Knickerbocker, Sandie Knickerbocker, Ann Marty, Hal Poe



 
Anderson opened the meeting with prayer.

Everyone enjoyed the fellowship of Christmas food, drinks, and friends.

Anderson reported on the November 18, 2003 worship service at MTS commemorating the life and ministry of Lewis as well as the dedication of the "C. S. Lewis Collection and Study Center" at MTS.

Anderson reported that the Memphis C. S. Lewis Society became incorporated as a non-profit organization on December 12, 2003.

Beets will file the application for 501c3 status before December 31, 2003.

The group nominated and elected the following as a Board of Directors: Barry Anderson, Dennis Beets, Tom Boulden, Janet Cupo, and Don Johnson.

The group nominated and elected the following as the Editorial Board for The Unicorn's Horn: Patrick Gray, Knick Knickerbocker, and Hal Poe.

Hal Poe and Tom Boulden displayed a number of recently-acquired first edition books and artifacts relating to CSL.

The program consisted of a discussion of chapters 7-10 of Out of the Silent Planet.

The next meeting will be on January 11 and the program will be chapters 11-16 of Out of the Silent Planet.
